Coconut Oil for Cholesterol

Body contains two type of cholesterol: one is called as good cholesterol and the second one is bad cholesterol. Good cholesterol is required by the body to form hormones and food also needs them for its proper utilization. Bad cholesterol gets deposited in the arteries resulting in clogging of blood vessels. Due to this the amount of blood reaching different parts of the body reduces and increases the chance of heart attack. Whenever the cholesterol check of the body is carried out, the difference between good cholesterol and bad cholesterol is calculated.  

Consumption of coconut oil does not increase blood cholesterol level. The reason is the triglycerides chain present in the coconut oil get burned off immediately. These saturated fats do not get converted into harmful cholesterol in the body. Due to this the level of cholesterol in the body does not get affected. Presence of coconut oil will stimulate the functioning of the thyroid hormone. Increase in the thyroid hormone in blood will convert the excess of cholesterol in the blood to various hormones with the help of enzymatic process. This is the reason behind the use of coconut oil in the food. For consumption purpose selects the coconut oil which does not contain Tran’s fatty acids.
