Fast Foods and Their Effects on Blood Cholesterol Levels

Experts reveal that most of the cholesterol content in our body comes from the food that we eat. As per the recommendations of The American Heart Association there must be maximum of 30 percent of calories should come from the fats and not more. This means that for an average individual maximum of 80 grams of fat per day should be consumed. And a cheese burger which is one of the most popular fast foods there is fat content of 140 grams which is almost double than the recommended average consumption.
It is worth noting that in some food packets or in some restaurants you may come across the words no cholesterol French fries, but after consumption, these fries will get converted into fats and cholesterol. Also, fast foods are quite high in salt and sodium. This can raise the blood pressure level in the body creating ruptures in the blood vessels. And since the blood vessels must be repaired body produces more lipoprotein.

This does not mean that you don’t have right to party with your friends. You have to make proper and healthy choices while ordering foods. You may order healthy salads, soups, grilled meat, and baked potato. Rather than adopting fried options, you must go for grilled and baked options.
