How Does High Cholesterol Affect Human Physiology?

The effects of unwanted cholesterol deposits on human physiology are observed only after a series of years. The excessive presence of LDL cholesterol in the bloodstream is a potentially dangerous condition and can lead to several coronary ailments. Once the deposit the bad cholesterol crosses the boundary line, it begins to accumulate around the arterial walls. This leads to a condition called atherosclerosis, wherein the arteries start to become narrower and harder. This fat like agent further transforms into hard plaque and clogs the interior walls. This condition, if left untreated, may result into angina pain.  
The effects of high cholesterol may depend on the severity of blockage in the arteries. As per the condition, the patient may experience fatal coronary diseases like heart attack, stroke, high blood pressure, peripheral artery disease.
