Can headache be a result of increased cholesterol levels?

Higher levels of cholesterol have often caused headaches and pains. Symptoms of headaches might begin with different parts of the head, including the shoulders, neck and can as well radiate to other parts of the body. This is a typical case of migraine, which can sometimes lead to visual disturbances. Such a state is known as migraine with aura.
It is very difficult to recognize whether or not cholesterol is the cause of headache or migraines. It is only after determining whether or not the cholesterol level is high that it can be concluded that the frequent episodes of headaches have been caused due to increased cholesterol levels.
Increased levels of cholesterol tend to clog the arteries, thereby restricting the flow of blood in a person’s body.  When the blood flow is restricted it results in headaches. Headaches as a result of higher levels of cholesterol often tend to be strong.
Headaches in patients with high blood pressure also indicates that the patient is having lower levels of blood pressure, it becomes a very difficult condition that needs to be controlled with proper diet, lesser amounts of fat, some exercise and proper medications.

If you are having recurring headaches, you must see a doctor to check whether you are having cholesterol. If detected, you will have to maintain a restricted life and improve the condition.
